3 Ways to Share the Gospel with a People Group
Although Africa is organized into 54 countries, locals know the boundary lines are much more difficult to define. Take Kenya and Uganda, two Eastern countries side by side with as many as 135 ethnic groups between them.
Bordering these countries lives the Iteso community. Despite being the second-largest tribe in Uganda, the Iteso face unique challenges in Kenya, where they remain a minority. Kenyan Pastor Vincent Imai saw a need among his unreached neighbors, and after the Haggai Leader Experience, he felt God challenge him to use every means possible to bring restoration to this overlooked community located 35 kilometers from his city. He gathered a team of volunteers and got to work. Since 2020, they’ve planted 15 churches, trained 600 Christian leaders, and brought approximately 3,000 people to Christ. Here are three ways he’s strategically approached reaching the Iteso community:
1. Training Church Leaders
In rural Kenya, many church leaders lack access to sound theological education, which is critical for effective ministry. Understanding this challenge, Pastor Imai partnered with various stakeholders to bring training directly to local churches. This innovative approach allows for flexible teaching methods that accommodate a wide range of church leaders. By empowering them with solid theological foundations, they are not only equipping local congregations but also fostering a deeper understanding of the Gospel that can resonate throughout the community.
2. Economic Empowerment

3. National Prayer

By specifically praying for the Iteso community and others, they have seen God respond by sending workers into the harvest field.
