A Celebration: Ending Gospel Poverty Weekend

Over two days in February, Haggai leaders, prayer partners, and family came together from five continents for the Ending Gospel Poverty Weekend to celebrate powerful testimonies of how the Gospel is advancing through the ministry of Haggai International.

Winnie Klein, faithful supporter at 105 years old, was honored during the gala evening.

The Friday Forum, February 24, featured the nations we cannot typically talk about — the places where it is hardest to be a follower of Jesus. The next day at a gala event, Haggai leaders shared stories about women and children rescued, inmates freed, and souls saved. Guests experienced an evening of awe-inspiring stories, devout prayer, a moving reunion, and stirring worship.

Haggai leader Dr. Robert Wafula from Kenya.

Together, we celebrated stories of Haggai leaders serving on the frontlines of the effort to end Gospel poverty. In Argentina, Silvana Mercado Nwosu works in the prisons sharing the light of the Gospel with inmates and wardens. In India, Lorraine Francis offers hope, healing, and freedom to suffering women and children. In Kenya, Dr. Robert Wafula counsels and empowers young people to build up the next generation. In the Middle East, a leader we call “Simon” risks his life every day because of his faithfulness to the Gospel.

Haggai leader Lorraine Francis from India.

Jesus’ commandment to make disciples is just as urgent as it was 2,000 years ago. That’s why Haggai International commits to equipping one million leaders by 2030, to reach the 2.2 billion men, women, and children who do not know the name of Jesus. With your partnership and prayer, Haggai leaders will do whatever it takes to end Gospel poverty.
