A Fourth Person in the Room

Benjamin* is an Egyptian Haggai leader working in South America for a ministry he founded that reaches Arabs. Through this ministry, Benjamin and his colleagues aim to share the Good News through acts of service and love. They also have a radio channel that broadcasts messages in Arabic, discussing the hope of Jesus.

After hearing one of these broadcasts, an Arab man asked Benjamin’s team to visit him. Benjamin and one of his ministry partners, Jared*, made the trip.

“When we entered the room, he closed the door behind us and told us that he did not want his wife to know about the topic he wanted to talk to us about,” Benjamin says.

The man went to prepare coffee for their visit, leaving Benjamin and Jared alone in the room. The two men began to pray. “Suddenly, we felt a strong presence of the Lord filling the room,” Benjamin says. When the man returned with the coffee, he set it down, looked around the room, and asked if the two men wanted to tell him about the person of Jesus Christ.

With joy, Benjamin and Jared shared for half an hour, the coffee forgotten in the presence of a fourth Person in the room. At the end of their time, the man surrendered his life to Jesus.

At his Haggai Leader Experience (HLE), Benjamin saw God at work through his fellow leaders like never before. Influenced by the men he learned alongside and by the Holy Spirit’s transforming work, He now considers reaching others in his sphere of influence a personal challenge.

We’ve seen time and again during HLEs how the Holy Spirit guides leaders to create God-sized visions for their workplaces, families, nations, and communities so that the hope of the Gospel will impact every corner of the globe.
