Signs of Hope
On the evenings of February 24-25, the Haggai family gathered in Atlanta to hear our Haggai leaders share their stories of hope and rescue for those they serve, and how God is working through them to reach their nations with the Gospel. Hope is a word filled with great expectations and speaks of the desires of our heart. As followers of Jesus, our hope is in Him! He takes what is broken and makes it whole; He takes what is old and makes it new; He takes what has no purpose and gives it eternal significance. In short, Jesus changes everything. Hope in Christ is the sure confidence that the God of the impossible is entering our specific circumstances to bring His Kingdom into being — here and now — for our good, the good of others, and for His glory.
I’m reminded of the words Dr. Haggai wrote nearly 50 years ago: “There’s hope for planet Earth. This is my profound conviction. Some are seeing only signs of impending destruction, but I see signs of hope.” The Apostle Paul would agree with him! In 1 Timothy 4:10 he writes, “That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe” (NIV).
Just because times change or feel insurmountable doesn’t mean the hope of Christ will waver. Haggai leaders understand and cling to His promises as they are immersed in what God has called them to do. They know He will work in and through them to make it come to pass. We witnessed stories of this Gospel-rooted hope from Haggai leaders at our Ending Gospel Poverty Weekend, and we came away in awe at the ways God is rescuing and redeeming individuals across the globe. You can read more about it in the Spring edition of Impact magazine, including Lorraine Francis’ powerful story from Mukti Mission in India!
God is using Haggai leaders to rescue a generation, one that desperately needs Jesus’ love, redemption, and the abundant life that only He can give! There are 2.2 billion men, women, and children on Earth who have never heard the name of Jesus. We long for these people to hear the Good News, and now, more than ever, it is vital to equip strategically placed, local leaders who can share the Gospel in their own contexts and languages.
Every leader equipped is the spark of light needed to ignite the hope that only the Gospel can bring, across the world. Your partnership with Haggai International is creating the momentum to accelerate ending Gospel poverty. Thank you for joining with us to reach the world with the Good News of Jesus!
