God, today we pray with the little children like Oleksander* who is in a bomb shelter with his parents. (The following is a real prayer from a child in Ukraine, recorded by a Haggai leader on the ground. Pray with Oleksander and be encouraged by his parents’ responses as they see God at work. *Name changed for security purposes). 

Oleksander: Please, make evil people not be able to hide, change clothes, or camouflage themselves. Please, make them unable to shoot our people. Please, protect our country! Please, destroy the plans of evil people! Please, protect all our people! Amen!

Oleksander‘s Father: God, we join in this prayer and ask for your blessing. Thank you, God.

Oleksander: God, please, stop the air raid and protect all our people who live here. Protect us from evil people who are making marks for artillery attacks, stop them from putting marks on our house. Protect all the citizens of our city! Please, make evil people disappear. Amen!

Oleksander, talking to his parents: This is a real prayer, right?

Oleksander’s Mom: Look, the air raid warning was just turned off.

Oleksander’s Father: Oleksander, see, you are praying and God is answering. You see how God answers prayers? But we always forget. Two days haven’t passed and we forgot, but He reminds us — we are in the right place at the right time and He will answer our prayers and will give us victory as He showed us many times.

Oleksander: He answers our prayers.

Oleksander’s father: Yes, Oleksander, yes and yes. He answers our prayers. So, we ask you to pray. I will tell you this, Jesus listens to children’s prayers in a very special way. You are very special to Him. So please, pray! Your prayer is valuable and important.

God, we join in these prayers and say “Amen;” let it be so.
